Payload includes the gripper or tool plus the part. Always check the load chart, since the rated payload applies close to the wrist centre. Longer tools or off-centre loads reduce usable capacity.
Reach
Draw the robot's work envelope over your layout and confirm it reaches all points with margin. Remember that welding torches and dress packs shorten usable reach.
